This document seems to answer the question "what needs a permit in Belize, what doesn't?" Belize Building Act Amendment 2017

Depending on how it is used, it seems that the upper limit for buildings that don't need building permits is 100, 150 or 200 square feet.

How is that area referenced? By physical on-the-ground footprint? By interior area? Or by the shadow/dripline of the roof?

Also, are permits required for tower structures like water-tank supports, of say 20 feet in height?
