A major improvement for us over the Banana Republic of Belize. In Merida, where we are 1/2 the year, the cost of living is easily 40% less esp utilities. There is a far greater selection of commodities and amenities and better medical care and infrastructure. I dont need to drive for hours to source an item with the presence of Home Depot or Costco where I can have a Polish sausage, fries and Modelo for 20 pesos after loading up on Charmin, parmesan and olive oil etc

You dug up a 6 year old post to announce you will be moving to a Mexico Forum? You could have started your own post. Mozel Tov and best wishes.

6 year old post? Now I'm confused. All the dates I see were yesterday. It's no mystery, and no surprise, what Dr. Mexico's (ex Gin and Tonic) opinion would be. Kinda expected it. I would be interested to hear from other folks as well. I do know, from friends in various places in Mexico, that the cartel violence is spreading. Places that were previously untouched are beginning to have "incidents".

Hmmm. I could have sworn that when I first read this it was in response to a really old post. My mistake. Still, I think we can all look forward to Dr. Mexico bestowing his charming wisdom on the denizens of Mexican forums.

You Belizers will never change. The dude wanted info comparing Belize with Mexico. It was delivered. I gave him the succinct version. Ultimately he chose Mexico. Smart fellow.
Belize is an impoverished, crime ridden, 3rd world armpit. Worst of all you cant get spinach garlic pierogies or Argentine merlot.

I could get Argentine Merlot but I so prefer a nice dry Cabernet. So I get that.

Well if your goals in life involve Home Depo and Costco enjoy your days.
If you live to eat as opposed to eat to live sounds like Mexico is for you all the fast food chains from the north at your finger tips.

Actually i doubt the poster really needed this info as has been on this forum for years. asks questions ignores advice argues with it and is trying to sell property. Sounds more like he was bored that the forum was so quiet and wanted to stir things up a little and knowing the good doc would oblige.

Wrong britinbelize !! - I did need the info - it was about Mexico and not Belize.. I did not ignore any advice or argue about anything.
Yes I did have few properties for sale - all got sold except 2 parcels. Thank you.
