I'll be doing some reef fishing in Placencia in 2017 and am really struggling to find fishing regulations. I have found the fisheries website to buy a license but it states that the license is for catch & release only. I would like to eat some of my catch there and bring some home with me too. Is this not allowed or is a different license needed? Are there restrictions on the amount that can be flown home, note this will just be for personal consumption, not commercial. I've found the resources linked below but they don't really answer my questions.

Don't quote me but the catch and release is for game fish. Go to the Belize Game Fish Associations official website it and they should help you the guys are pretty responsive. Snappers etc. there is no limit nor is there for size I believe.

Thank you Breezy, that's what I thought too. I sent them a message a while ago and it bounced, trying again now.
