I'm with Lee - pepper spray might work on someone who's allergic to capsaicin, but if you'd use it on me I'd ask for some prawn crackers to go with it.

Since it's illegal to posses or carry any of this - if I were determined to have it on me anyhow - what the hell - I'd go with the real military grade stuff. Anyone who has experience with tear gas knows its debilitating qualities.

Had a friend in Paris who maced an attacker/mugger. Even though she got him square in the face he still managed to take the can of mace off her, force her mouth open and spray it down her throat. Only a roadside tracheotomy saved her.
Any of those sprays will deter only those who are not determined.

why stop at tear gas? for the ultimate in self defense:

1. distill Caribbean gold into pure ethanol, and heat the ethanol in battery acid (H2SO4) and get ethylene.

2. stick the terminals of a battery into salt water, get chlorine gas on the positive side

3. put some sulfur powder into toluene nail polish remover, shake the mixture with the chlorine gas to get sulfur chloride

4. mix sulfur chloride with ethylene and you have mustard gas.

p.s. for safety, make sure someone is holding your beer while attempting the above mentioned procedures.

Since I never saw any in Belize, I brought a can of hornet spray in. It sprays up to 25 feet accurately.

A few years ago a lady here in Corozal had someone try to get in her Car when she was going over one of our speed bumps she sprayed him with a can of Bug Spray. I don't think she hung around to see the affect it had on him. But pretty sure she carries it with her now.

How do you trap and contain the chlorine gas? Also how is the mustard gas stored and what is the delivery mechanism? What advantages does mustard gas have over Sarin? Thanks Lee much appreciated.

Sarin or GB is a nerve agent......like a can of bug spray for Humans.....watched a video of the gas on sheep.....they started twitching, drulling, loosing their bladders, unable to stand, pretty soon they were dead......versus Mustard which causes large blisters, burning eyes, so painful that the enemy looses ability to fight/attack......thus Sarin would be a quicker route to death....however controlling the gas direction might have to ask the bad guy to go down wind....lol.....

Unless he's advocating making your own - which is worse.
