Saw this flower ground up with water and applied to skin as a mosquito repellant. Apparently a Maya thing. Anyone know if its effective.

It is sold as a drink with or without alcohol by Kid B in Silk Grass, by the bottle. He makes on site.
The list of ailments he claims is very long and pretty comprehensive! However we use it for indigestion related things and it does seem to work. I was recommended to try it for a troublesome heat rash or itch which had failed to respond to conventional ointments. Jackass bitters just wiped onto the affected area cleared it overnight. I don't claim that as anything other than a fact of what happened to me. But it worked!
But Winjama is right it tastes foul...

Hi there. I've got a bottle of bitters that I was given few years ago. Anyway I've just finished it. It was made up of some sort of bark. Does anyone know whether the bark can be reused and if so, what spirit or whatever can I add to it? Any replies appreciated. Thank you all.
