Bluecadia Company Information
Bluecadia Aquaculture Group, LLC is a privately held company and has been involved in shrimp aquaculture for more than 17 years. During this time, Bluecadia has grown through a combination of expansion and acquisitions and is currently the largest vertically integrated aquaculture operation in Belize. Today Bluecadia's aquaculture operations consist of several farm production sites, a state of the art hatchery, and a modern processing facility.
Bluecadia's main farm sits on over 5,000 acres along the coast just north of Belize City. Visitors flying into and out of the country will see the large rectangular ponds several miles from the International Airport. This main site, NOVA Ladyville, currently encompasses 2,200 acres of water divided into 100 individual earthen ponds ranging from 5-30 acres with an average of 25 acres. During operational peaks, the farm employs up to 300 people. The company recently completed an upgrade of our 45,000 square foot state-of-the-art processing facility making this the largest seafood processing facility in Belize with approximately 250 employees and the ability to process 100,000 lbs of shrimp per day. Bluecadia's two southern sites, NOVA Toledo & NOVA Laguna, are located in the Stann Creek District of Belize near the towns of Placencia & Independence Village. These sites contain over 1,000 acres of production capacity, with tremendous potential for future expansion.
